Important Notice: Update to Quarantine Policy
September 22, 2021
New Beginnings High School is changing our quarantine policy due to a new emergency order by the Florida Surgeon General.
Under this order, parents and guardians can choose to allow their students who are close contacts to a COVID-19 positive individual to remain in school — as long as they do not have symptoms. They can also choose for their student to follow quarantine procedures for a period of up to seven days.
Either choice is totally at the discretion of the parent or guardian, as long as the student has no symptoms. Some typical symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, headache, sore throat, runny nose, congestion, and gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
If parents or guardians choose to have their child return to school, they need to submit a Return-to-School Form. The Return-to-School Form can be found by clicking on the link below.
Please note this new policy does not apply to students who have tested positive for COVID-19. Any students who have tested positive must still follow quarantine procedures as instructed by NBHS and the Florida Department of Health in Polk County.
