Dear Families,

New Beginnings High School is making an update to its quarantine policy as a result of the CDC update released on December 27, 2021.

Please note that the emergency order by the Florida Surgeon General giving parents and guardians the choice to allow their students (with no symptoms) who are close contacts to a COVID-19 positive individual to remain in school, is still in effect

Quarantine Window Reduced from 7 days to 5 days
Due to the CDC update, parents and guardians can choose to allow their students who are close contacts to a COVID-19 positive individual to remain in school — as long as they do not have symptoms. They can also choose for their student to follow quarantine procedures for a period of up to 5 days.

If parents or guardians choose to have their child return to school, they need to submit a Return-to-School Form and strongly encourage their student to continue to wear a mask around others for at least 5 days upon their return

The Return-to-School Form can be found by clicking on the link below.

Return to School Statement Form

Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 must do the following:

  • Any students who have tested positive and unvaccinated, must quarantine for five (5) days. The student must wear a mask around others for 5 days upon their return.
  • Any students who have tested positive and vaccinated but not boosted must quarantine for five (5) days. The student must wear a mask around others for 5 days upon their return.
  • Any students who have tested positive but fully vaccinated and boosted are NOT required to quarantine. The student must wear a mask around others for 10 days.
