Academic Performance Plan
- Goal: New Beginnings High School will increase the percentage of students making learning gains in Math, Reading/English Language Arts, by a minimum of 15 – 20 percent per year through 2020.
- NBHS uses an adaptive diagnostic that assesses student performance across the key domains in reading and mathematics, providing a valid and reliable measure of student growth. The baseline assessment is administered at the beginning of the school year with subsequent mid-year and end of year assessments. For the 2018-19 school year:
- Goal 40%– Goal Met
- Goal 30%– Goal Met
- Students that retook PERT in 2018-19 averaged by 3.7 scaled score growth, equivalent to a 5% improvement.
- Average ACT Reading Scale Score growth for students retaking the ACT was 4 points.
- Goal: By June 2020, by systematically addressing excessive absenteeism, the promotion rates per grade level will increase by 5%, thereby increasing the overall graduation rate at NBHS. Goal Met
- 7% of students earned mid-year grade level promotion.
- EOY Promotions increased by 5.6% over the previous year.
- Goal: By Spring 2017, 50% of NBHS graduating seniors will receive a standard high school diploma. In subsequent years an increase by 2% in NBHS graduating seniors who receive a standard high school diploma. Goal Met
- 64.2% of students who graduated in 2018-19, regardless of cohort, earned a standard high school diploma.
